The National Center for Telecommunications Technologies (NCTT) provides the foundation for an active and open collaborative of institutions and organizations that advance telecommunications technology and Information and Communications Technology (ICT) education, training, content development, certifications, and standards. The backbone of this collaborative is community colleges and their faculty for whom NCTT acts as a resource and dissemination center.
NCTT offers a flexible program that allows virtually any accredited educational institution an opportunity to associate with us. Following is a thumbnail view of the activities and expectations at varying association levels:
NCTT Partner:
Regional Partner
Replicates the NCTT model by delivering and supporting ICT Core Curriculum Elements as identified by NCTT through defined programs of instruction
Works within its region to support NCTT Core Curriculum and ICT standards based education (as defined above) and training with its partner institutions
Provides regional workshops and training for partner faculty and for industry
Attends and supports NCTT summer workshops and related activities
Provides subject matter expertise and contributes to NCTT curriculum maintenance and improvement
Existing or pending NSF ATE grant or other sponsorship or funding
Collaborating Partner
Delivers and supports ICT Core Curriculum Elements as identified by NCTT through defined programs of instruction
Actively extends NCTT mission, products, and services to relevant stakeholders
Collaborates with NCTT and other partners. Examples include grant proposals, educational materials development, articulation agreements, or faculty development
Attends and supports NCTT summer workshops and related activities
Existing or pending NSF ATE grant or other sponsorship or funding
Strategic Partner (Provides one or more of the following)
Advances ICT education, training and workforce development in support of the NCTT mission
Supports research and development into ICT content, instructional methodology, and emerging technologies for the continuing improvement of standards based ICT technician education
Expands access to resources to further support NCTT initiatives
Provides visioning and insight to ICT - related emerging technologies, advanced applications, workforce development, and economic trends
NCTT Member:
Supports and applies appropriate elements of NCTT core curriculum in programs of instruction
Supports ICT standards based education and training
Attends and supports NCTT or Regional Partner summer workshops and related activities as appropriate
Access to NCTT support in program evaluation, program development, grant proposal development or related activities
NCTT Subject Matter Expert (SME):
For our purposes here, the term Subject Matter Expert (SME) shall be defined as an individual who has, by virtue of his/her experience, skill or education, been acknowledged by his/her peers to exhibit the highest degree of knowledge in a specialized area.
A Subject Matter Expert will provide SME Services to NCTT and Partners to be determined on an individual basis. SME Services may include (but are not limited to) technical content, story boarding, pedagogy, or collaborations in support of NCTT or Partner educational initiatives.

Opportunity to co-present at conferences and seminars as appropriate
